Diesel exhaust treatment fluid (also known as automotive urea, AdBlue) is a special urea solution made from industrial production containing only trace amounts of biuret and ammonia, free of aldehydes, sulfur, chlorides, and nitrates, mixed with high-purity water to form a 32.5% mass fraction urea aqueous solution. It is used in diesel vehicle SCR systems, capable of converting carcinogenic substances in vehicle exhaust—nitrogen oxides— into harmless nitrogen gas and water, reducing toxic gas emissions in the exhaust by approximately 90%, and decreasing environmental pollution
